Abstract & Psychedelic drawing: Way outside of the box.

I have always had a great love for drawing, but have never felt comfortable drawing real life images. When I was growing up around friends that had true talent at drawing real life images, I found myself drifting towards the abstract.

I have minimal formal education in art and have been working towards being self taught. I am still in the process of refining my style and mediums. Such as upgrading to a better pen instead of ballpoint.

I experiment with many mediums, but always come back to the pen and paper. I feel that I have developed my own styles over the years. I try to remain outside of the box and be different than the norm.

Normally I will grab a pen and paper and just start drawing with nothing in mind. Sometimes something will come out in the work, other times it might look like a small child created it. Drawing for me is like a form of meditation. Good music can be motivational when making art. I also find it helpful to set a piece down for a while and try to take breaks.

I ussually don't have any idea when I start and will try to play off of the work if see the slightest hint of something in it. I have included some pictures in a slide show to show you some examples of work I have done in the past. It may or may not be to your liking. Either way, any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated.
