A beginners guide to making money writing on hubpages
58
Hubpages seems to be one of the better options available for individuals to publish their writing and make a bit of money. Their customer support seems to be good, they have an easy to use website, and you can publish your work almost instantly. First you need to register your free account.
Once you have an account you can start writing about just about anything that interests you. You may not write about adult material or gambling. If you can think of something and believe that you can put a different spin or twist to it then go for it.
Hubpages has a simple and easy to use interface for creating content. Even someone who is not good with computers can easily pick up on how to create articles on hubpages.
When you write an article, hubpages will host it for you and take 40% of all impressions. You get 60% of the impressions that your pages get, and can keep 100% of the profit from those pages. I believe that this is reasonable considering that they are hosting your content and managing the website. There are a few good options for getting paid such as google adsense, kontera, and amazon.com. You can sign up with these advertisers 100% free and you can even be paid via paypal. I advise at least signing up for adsense and kontera, they will be your best bet.
It might not seem like a lot of money, but when u consider that you can get compensated for your articles for many years to come it adds up. They also have a decent referral program that allows you to earn bonus impressions from referrals.
You need to get creative on ways to bring people to your pages. There are many options available such as spreading links around on websites and forums, or social network sites. Remember, traffic = money.
Don't expect to make a bunch of money right away, it takes a bit of time. If you set a reasonable goal such as trying to write a couple of decent articles each day, they will add up fast. Also remember that you get what you give. You should consider trying to get links to your work out on the internet and maybe even try to be active in the hubpages community. The more places that you link your work from the more traffic that you can possibly get.
If this article helps one person it was well worth it. If you have any more detailed questions that you feel that I might be able to help with please leave a comment and I will try to answer back.
